Jim McGinty has passsed on this information pack with regard to the forthcoming event that him and Frank are taking part. I will try to attach the notice with full details of the competition, but failing that I will bring a copy with me tomorrow for any of those who are interested in taking part. Hello,
As part the Walking Football community, you may be interested in a Walking Football Festival being held in Newcastle upon Tyne on Friday 4th March.
Old Stars Sc Cambuur are a Walking Football Club from The Netherlands and are visiting Newcastle to a) play some Walking Football, and b) watch Newcastle Utd at St James’ Park. As a Newcastle Utd fan myself, I have advised them that the latter is probably an error. However, the former is certainly a fantastic opportunity to further celebrate an ever growing game which is continuing the footballing careers of many.
So I would like to invite all clubs and interested parties to an International Walking Football Festival. I have attached a poster and a team entry form. The age band for the event is Over 50’s, however teams may have 1 member under 50. This is to accommodate the ‘youth’ who play Walking Football for reasons such as injury, but would also like to be part of such events.
The venue is GOALS Newcastle which is located within Newcastle Racecourse just off the A1. It has six 5-a-side 3G pitches allowing us to have a 28 team festival with every team getting ample playing time. Following the football there will be food on at the venue, made by a local pub called the Border Minstrel, with time to have a drink and chat along with a few presentations for the days efforts.
